Nevermore Black Swan Linocut Print

Hand illustrated then carved

Nevermore Black Swan

Inspired by the children's novel "School of Good and Evil" by Soman Chainani.

My fascination of Japan's Edo period and it's "Ukiyoe" (wood block prints) had me developed a hobby craft of carving lino blocks for prints. First hand illustrated then impressed onto the linoleum block and prepared for carving. The Black Swan is carved on a 4"x6" block and used water based block printing ink.

Precision and attention to detail is key to carving. There is no undo key or super glue to fix a mistake once carved.
